Electrolysis uses a fine sterile probe to treat each hair follicle, and it is the only method the FDA allows to be marketed as permanent. Sessions at our Irvine studio start at $50, and small facial areas typically take 8 to 15 visits.

Before your visit

Do I need a consultation first? It is free and recommended. You meet Aida, she examines your skin and hair, and you leave with an estimate. Nothing is sold on the spot.

How should I prepare? Avoid waxing, plucking or threading in the weeks before, because the hair needs some length for the probe. Come with clean skin and skip heavy creams on the area. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access.

Is electrolysis right for me? It suits nearly everyone: PCOS and hirsutism, gray and blonde hair, dark skin, men, and anyone with ingrown hairs or razor bumps. If a medical condition is involved, Aida recommends working alongside your doctor.

During treatment

What actually happens? Aida slides a hair-thin probe into the follicle, delivers a short pulse of current, and removes the hair with tweezers. She uses thermolysis, galvanic or a blend, depending on your hair.

What does it feel like? A brief pinch or warmth. A quick session on the upper lip takes 20 minutes, while the chin takes 30.

Is the equipment clean? Probes are sterile, single-use and discarded after your visit. Aida works with the Apilus device and has performed electrolysis for more than 20 years.

Results and cost

How soon will I see results? Many clients notice thinner, sparser hair within a few weeks. Full clearing takes longer, with sessions weekly at first and spaced out as hair thins. Results vary.

What will it cost overall? Multiply the session price by your expected visits. Look at the price list, or read how it compares with other methods in electrolysis vs laser.

Any savings? New clients get $25 off the first session, 5-visit packages save 10%, 10-visit packages save 15%, and a referral earns you and a friend $25 each.

Questions

Is electrolysis really permanent?

Yes. Electrolysis is the only hair removal method the FDA allows to be marketed as permanent. Each follicle is treated individually, and treated follicles typically do not regrow. Results vary from person to person.

Does electrolysis hurt?

Most clients describe a quick pinch or warm tingle. Sensitivity varies by area and by day, and the upper lip is usually the most sensitive. Aida adjusts the settings and pace to keep you comfortable.

How many sessions will I need?

A small facial area typically needs 8 to 15 sessions over 9 to 18 months. Hormonal hair, such as with PCOS, takes longer. You get an honest estimate at the free consultation.

Does electrolysis work on gray, blonde or red hair?

Yes. It treats the follicle, not the pigment, so it works on gray, blonde, red, white and fine hair that laser cannot target.

Does it work on dark skin?

Yes. Electrolysis works on all skin and hair colors. Aida adjusts the method to protect pigment and lower the risk of marks.

How much does electrolysis cost?

Sessions start at $50 for the upper lip and go up to $150 for the legs. Packages of 5 visits take 10% off and 10 visits take 15% off. New clients also save $25.

Can I do electrolysis after laser?

Yes. Many clients come after laser left behind gray, light or stubborn hairs. Aida treats those remaining hairs one at a time.

Is it safe?

Yes, when done by a licensed electrologist. Every session uses a sterile single-use probe, opened in front of you.

How long does each session take?

From 20 minutes for the upper lip to 1 hour for areas like legs, back or bikini. Your booking confirms the length.

Can I shave or wax before my appointment?

Do not wax or pluck for at least a few weeks before. Hair needs some length to be treated, so ask Aida how to prepare. You can shave if she advises it.
