What is the drive from Costa Mesa to Irvine?

It is about 10 to 20 minutes without traffic to 18021 Sky Park Circle, Suite N, Irvine, CA 92614, and the studio is only in Irvine. We are close to John Wayne Airport, so Costa Mesa is one of the nearest cities we serve.

From South Coast Plaza or the Segerstrom Center, take Bristol Street or Anton Boulevard to the 405 south and exit toward the airport area. From the Triangle Square side, Newport Boulevard to the 55 north or Bristol Street also works. From Orange Coast College, Fairview Road and Bristol Street both lead to the 405. Parking at our building is free.

Who comes to us from Costa Mesa?

Many Costa Mesa clients are people with full schedules: classes, shifts, offices and creative work. A 20-minute upper lip visit at $50 fits inside a lunch break or an evening, and a 30-minute chin visit is $65.

Daily shaving is the common thread. If you shave your face, neck or legs every other day, you may be dealing with razor bumps and dark spots. Electrolysis removes the hair at the root, so the skin has less to react to. We wrote about this on the chin electrolysis page.

How do you fit appointments around class, work and shifts?

Pick a fixed weekly slot and keep it. Our hours are daily 8am to 9pm, which covers early starts and late finishes.

Your dayGood slotWhy
Morning class or shift8am to 9amRoads are lighter before 9:30am in Irvine
Midday break11am to 2pmLower traffic both ways
Late work or studyAfter 7:30pmEasy drive back down the 405
Day offWeekend morningTime for a longer, combined visit

What does it cost, and how do you keep it affordable?

You pay per session, and sessions are priced by the time the area needs. Here are the areas students and young professionals ask for most.

AreaTimePrice
Upper lip20 min$50
Chin30 min$65
Face, general zone30 min$75
Cheek, neck, hairline or underarm45 min$90
Chest and decollete45 min$100

The first session is $25 off, and a 5-visit pack saves 10%. A 10-visit pack saves 15%. Spreading cost over the weekly start phase is easier with a pack. Check the prices page for everything else.

How is electrolysis different from the laser or wax you tried?

Electrolysis treats each hair follicle, so it can work where wax and laser fell short. Wax grows back in weeks. Laser works best on dark hair and light skin, and it often misses fine, light or gray hairs. Our electrolysis vs laser guide has the full table.

What does a typical course look like?

A typical small-area course takes 8 to 15 sessions over 9 to 18 months, starting weekly. Your skin, hair thickness and hormones change the number.

PhaseVisit rhythmWho it suits
StartWeekly for 2 to 3 monthsDense or coarse hair
MiddleEvery 2 to 3 weeksThinner regrowth
FinishEvery 4 to 6 weeksA few stray hairs

A typical plan, not a promise. Results vary.

What if hair keeps coming back, even after treatment?

Hair that keeps returning, especially on the chin, jaw or upper lip, can be hormonal. Electrolysis still removes it, but it can take more sessions. See our page on PCOS facial hair and talk to your doctor. We work alongside doctors and do not give medical advice.

What should you know about your first visit?

The first visit is a conversation and a test, so you leave knowing your plan. Aida looks at the area, asks about hair history and any hormonal or skin concerns, then explains the method and the number of sessions you might need.

Costa Mesa clients often start with the upper lip or chin, then add a second area after a few visits once they see how the skin responds. Both are quick, and there is no need to commit to everything at once.

How do you tell electrolysis results from a good shave?

A good shave lasts a day or two, while electrolysis changes how much hair grows at all. Look for fewer hairs in the area, thinner and lighter regrowth, and longer gaps between shaves. Take a photo in the same light every few weeks, because change is easy to miss in a mirror.

What you noticeWhat it means
Fewer hairs after 4 to 6 sessionsThe course is working
A burst of new hairs after a quiet spellResting follicles are waking up, which is normal
Fewer bumps and dark spotsFewer hairs are curling under the skin

Questions

Is there an electrolysis office in Costa Mesa?

Not from us. Our only studio is in Irvine at 18021 Sky Park Circle, Suite N. From Costa Mesa it is about 10 to 20 minutes without traffic.

What is the cheapest way to start?

The consultation is free, the first session is $25 off, and the upper lip is the lowest rate at $50 for 20 minutes. Packs of 5 or 10 visits save 10% or 15%.

I shave my face daily. Can electrolysis stop the bumps?

Often it can help, since fewer hairs means less to curl under the skin. Results vary and you may still shave between visits at first.

Can I come between classes?

Yes if the slot fits. Upper lip is 20 minutes and chin is 30. Allow time for check-in and parking.

How soon can I go back to work or class after a session?

Right away for most people. Pink skin or small bumps usually calm within hours.

Does electrolysis work on dark skin?

Yes. Electrolysis works on all skin tones and hair colors, because it treats the follicle and not the pigment.

Which Costa Mesa route avoids traffic?

The 405 is busiest at commute hours. Mid-morning, early afternoon and after 7:30pm tend to be calmer.

Can I pay with HSA or FSA?

Cards including HSA and FSA cards are accepted at the studio. We do not make insurance promises.
